My 1999 ohv KA when I turn key the starter just clicks. I have now replaced the starter motor & battery, checked the leads, fuses and cut out switch but it refuses to turn over and just clicks the pre-engagement part of the starter. Help?

using 1 jump lead.connect bat- to gearbox clean metal and retest.if starts then renew gearbox earth lead.if not ,with same set up remove starter solonoid trigger lead(thin 1)and connect flying lead to solonoid terminal,other end touch bat+.if motor spins then faulty ignition switch most probable.
