Baxi Bahama 100 CH not working?

We have so far spent nearly £1000 over the last 2 years on our Baxi Bahama 100 boiler, the latest problem is that although we have HW the central heating does not work properly. The system has been power flushed but the water is piping hot and the rads are too when we first put the CH on even though the TRV'S are on a low setting. The water pressure rises into the red and the system cuts out. Any suggestions as to what the problem is?

Check the air pressure in the pressure vessel with a car type pressure gauge. Should be 5 psi at least. Any water that might come out of the valve means you have a leaky diaphragm in the unit and it will need to be replaced. Look underneath the unit for blemishes in the red paint. (That would suggest a pin hole). If air is leaking out you should be able to feel it or hear it. Please note pressure on the fixed gauge on the system DOES NOT mean there is air pressure in the vessel. It's a bit like a leak in a bike tyre.....

sounds like you have left the fillling loop on which is quite dangerous.dont wanna leak now.make sure the setting is on 1.5 bar by turning off the taps for the filling loop minside the boiler and releasing some water to drop the pressure.

Your expansion vessle has lost the air inside it. You can re pressurise it using a car foot pump. You will also notice water dripping out of the 'blow off ' pipe. the pressure should be around 0.6 bar. I have noticed that if your boiler has gone into the red it seems to loose it's air (check the valve as you did as a kid (spit on the valve and look fore the bubbles if it does then replace the internal valve.
