leak?

i have a leak of green translucent fluid front off side from a silver canister approx 8in in length near wheel arch,could this be something to do with air con? car is a ford puma

It could be, as oil is added to air con gas to help with the lubrication of the compressor. If oil or gas has gone, then the air con won't work at all - confirming your diagnosis.
