I changed my Mercedes car battery, now the performance is very bad?

Changed the battery, first time since new (car made in 1999). The car performance is really bad, driving it for 5 miles has improved significantly, do I just continue to drive it so that it re-learns my driving patterns or do I need to try something else?

If resetting the system hasn't worked, your problem could be the maf sensor. That is the sensor that calculates how much air is going into the engine. To test this, try disconnecting the sensor then go for a short drive, it should drive a lot better. If you are unsure what the sensor is, you might have more luck if you looked on this website http://mbclub.co.uk/forums/ Then put in your search "maf faulty". You will have to log in though, it's a piece of cake and there is a wealth of info for every merc owner to peruse. good luck

this works on some models. push accelerator to floor and hold it there, turn on ignition but do not start car, after one minute turn off ignition, take foot off pedal,
then start as normal, this should reset the system,
