how do i tighten my handbrake on my ford mondeo?

i have not tightened my handbrake since i brought the car. i had a look for the adjuster but could not find it

I had this problem and found out that you can't really adjust the handbrake, it is self adjusting. The only real way to rectify the problem was to fit a new primary cable.
