How can I fix my breadmachine pan?

I have a regal ware breadmaker that the breadpan is leaking from the center shaft. what kind of seal or putty would you recommend to use to seal this with? or what can I do about it?

thx

This guy kludged a repair for an Oster breadmaker simply by substituting a few o-rings (which sounds dicey to me):

It won't have a seal (it would get too hot and melt), but simply relies on a relatively tight fit between the shaft and the bush (bearing) in the pan.
If either are worn, you will get a leak.
