my hotpoint condensor tumble dryer takes ages to dry clothes?

i have a hotpoint ctd40 condensor tumble dryer and it takes up to 3 hours to dry! when i open the door it is heating. Any ideas as what to do?

I had the same problem and it was a faulty thermostat

There is a 3hour maximum run time on the machine. Not sure why yous is not performing right though, sorry.
