I need a new Krups type 243 bottom part where the motor is. ?

I wanted a replacement to my krups type 243 blender. The bottom part that houses the motor because when I push the "on" button, nothing happens. I tried to find a place to get it fixed and I've come up empty. One company said they don't make parts for that blender anymore. I guess I'm going to have to hope that I see one in a yard sale. Does anyone know what could be wrong and how I could fix it?

I also have the same problem. I tried taking the entire assembly apart, but it's pretty much frozen. However, you can buy a replacement part for $20 Canadian (+$8 Canadian shipping) at http://abtecca.server101.com/commerce/search/products/?product_id=06XKRUPS5863012&merchant_id=2476

If the blender works without the jar on top then the motor is more than likely good and the problem may be in the knife assembly (if its made out of plastic).

If the knife assembly is made out of plastic, check and see if the knife turns freely inside its white plastic base (it should). If not, you need a new knife assembly.

Some times the plastic base gets so hot that the moving parts fuse together.
