How do i lock the crankshaft?

1996 Renault Trafic 2.1 diesel

I need to remove the front pulley to replace the timing belt but i cant find a location on the engine to lock the crankshaft

under injection pump near rear of pump there will be a hole or tork bolt to remove which give you room to place an 8mm drill bit, make sure you dont go into flywheel balance holes you should be able to line up camshaft marks to make sure you are in the right place, hope this helps

Will have to remove flywheel cover and hold flywheel in place if you don`t have impact ......have also seen people use a breaker bar with socket on bolt and position breaker bar in away so it doesn`t hit anything and lay it in frame ect and bump starter to losen the bolt ....make sure engine turns in right direction for loosenin the bolt
