petrol smell?

i too have a strong petrol smell coming into my car which is a vauxhall vectra 1800 when i open front windows yet i cant find the cause as there are no apparent leaks.has anyone any ideas?.

had same thing with my 2004 astra coupe & believe it or not it needed a new petrol cap !!
