when you enter the car you press the break pedal and then try to turn the ignition switch which seems to get stuck any help would be good, micra k12 2004

i found a switch that is located above the break pedal what happens is when the break is pressed down a plastic pin falls out and lets you start the car.
i have disconnected this from the break and left it hanging and now the car ignition turns with out any problem. so i think i have found the cause i just need to see if i can buy a new one.

Might try putting graphite in key cylinder and work key in and out ....try another key or key cylinder is wore out
