My dishwasher above does not drain of water after any programmes. I have checked all the water drainig path with no blockages. I have identified the drain pump, the impellar on this unit turns ok when powered up during a wash cycle. I have noted some brown coloured water in the water drain path in the transparent water chamber on the side of the unit. The water is simply not being pumped out by the appliance at the end of a programme. Can anyone suggest any further checks I can make before having to invite a service engineer to investigate?

I have the same problem with my Siemens. It's 4 years old and has only had light use. Did you find a fix for your problem? I wonder whether it might be better to replace the Siemens with a different brand as it seems to be a common fault.

I have same problem and same washer. The first time it happened I removed the impeller cover (easy - one screw) and found a grape stem jamming the impeller. Now I have same problem again after about 8 months. this time impeller is not clogged. Not sure what to do. Will check drain pipe in house.

have you actually removed the impeller's cover to check that it is physically free to move?
See if the machine drains without the filter in place.
I too have some brown gunk (although not water) in a tank on the side of my dishwasher. there is a loop that goes from the tub to the drain and there is then an eccess if you wish that fills up, this is where the gunk is, and i can't seem to shift it.
