How can i start my Ford Escort 1.6L?

I have a 1994 1.6 ford Escort L, the car will not start, but is turning over. A red light by the digital clock is constanly flashing when the ignition is turned on, but it will not fire to start.

i think it sounds like your immobiliser light, if so then you inside your drivers side door panel are some wires, all i know up to now is you have to do something with the central locking wires so the light goes off, i will probably tell you more later cos i will have a look through the ford escort manual that i have.

your imobaliser has a fault try taking the door panel off and look 2 c if the censor has fallen off the door lock if so clip it back on lock the door then unlock it and it should start
