How much cable is left into mower? If it is a reasonable amount just cut off damaged cable and put plug back on what is left into the mower
If it is too badly damaged you will need to replace all the cable into the mower, not too big a job. You might need a handy man to do it though, for safety.

Cable can be repaired. If you can wire a domestic plug, you will have no trouble. I can supply a second-hand water resistant connector, as originally supplied on a mower cable.

The main power cable that is. Accidentally I run my lawn mower over the power cable and it snapped. Do I have to buy a new lawn mower or is there any chance of replacing only the cable.
