How do I change the clutch on a Ford Focus 1.6 Zetec?

I want to change the clutch on my Ford Focus 1.6 Zetec - 2002 model. Has anyone done it? How easy/difficult is it?

Ignore the bit about fitting the clutch cable as it doesn't have one its a hydraulicly operated clutch as anyone knows

Reasonable qu,unreasonable answr.Tools requrd:good 1/2'socket set, ball joint sepetator, engine beam, high lift jack ,axle stands or two HIGH axle stands, clutch centering tool.battery saving tool.and a manual. If any of these tools are not owned, then you'r getting pricey in your diy.I'd say they were a min requirement.Aside from that it's basically a nuts and bolts job.One word of advice,if you do it,when the clutch is in,and gearbox is engaged, refit two blots and then the clutch cble and test pedal before you go any further.bolting everything together only to find pedal dos'nt work makes u swear.

Hi Phil, if your a competant DIY mechanic it's fairly straight forward, I suggest you get a "Haynes" type manual £20 or try you local library they might be able to get one for you,it will show you in pictures the correct method and all the torque figures for re-assembly, if your not so competant I would take it to a fast fit place then the work will come with a warranty.
