Pfaff 1536: The shaft is stuck and the wheel will not turn?

The worst thing I ever did was to buy this blasted Pfaff machine. It is a basic model and it has been finicky from day one. Last night I had just started to sew, put the needle into the fabric, put down the presser foot, and engaged the motor and wham!...the needle got stuck in the bobbin case. Maybe the case wasn't all the way in, but I'm 99% sure it was secure. I removed the needle and took out the plastic bobbin. But now the shaft is stuck in position and the wheel will not turn. If this is going to cost $200 to fix, I might as well junk the thing and buy a new one....not a Pfaff. I wish I could trade it in like and old car!!! Take my Pfaff...please. Can someone tell me what's wrong and 1) can I fix it myself? 2) Could this be a defective bobbin case? 3) Did a belt break? 4) Needed oiling? 5) How much will it cost to fix this (ball park?) if I have to bring it in for repair, and 6) the overcast stitch never worked on this damn thing either.

Thanks, in advance....

Hello Ellie,
Souns like the timing has gone bang out of time, you can fix it yourself with patience and I can attach timing instructions if you e-mail me.
