Renault Clio heater blows only hot air?

Just bought a Renault Clio (2002 registered).

The heater keeps pumping hot air and I cannot adjust it on the dashboard heater dials to reduce the temperature and/or blow cold air.

Oil and water levels are fine.

What is the likely cause and cost of remedy?

Probably due to either faulty control cables or a faulty heater box,as there is no water shut off tap on clios.You may be able to adjust the flaps on the box from below the dashboard as a temporary measure so that you have cool air inside the car
