Should my passenger seat slide forward?

I have a 3 door peugeot 206 and when i fold the seat forward to let someone in the back, the seat will not slide forward to allow them room to climb over! Once the seat is back in the upright position it will slide perfectly! Is it supposed to happen like this?

Mine does the exact same. Infact, my seat is completely broke at the minute. My stupid brother moved the handle the wrong way for tipping the chair forwards to get in the back, and pushed it the opposite way, and now, it's stufck in the forward position with the handles either side of the chair not in line.

Hi, mine was doing this as well, but I took off the cover on the side of the seat (as you sit on the passenger, take the cover off the left side of the seat) and noticed a pin was missing that operated the sliding mechanism. If you take the cover off the opposite side on the drivers seat, you will see what it should look like and how it should work. I put a bolt in to make up for the missing pin, and now it works fine!!!
