how can i fix the elecric windows on my 199 renault megane coupe? they go down but not up again....

The actuator mechanism has a plastic clip that holds the window. When the window isn't used for a while it gets stuck in place and when you press to lower it the plastic clip breaks by the power of the electric motor. The window drops but won't come back up. The plastic clip probably costs 20p but you have to buy/ have fitted new mech which costs £210. I've had 2 go in 6 months! I think this is a well known problem and Renault won't like publicity so suggest you have a severe go at dealer to have fitted for free.

Having the same problem on my 99 renault megane coupe - front passenger side - had window open yesterday, went to close it made a perculiar noise and stopped wouldn't move - sounds like the motor ok but something slipped or come loose behind door cover.
rather than go to Renault dealer and get stung - thought do it myself - do i require allen keys to get door cover off - somebody help

don't think you can fix it yourself - I own a 1999 renault megane coupe and four years ago my drivers window went down and would not come up again took it to a renualt dealer big mistake ended up costing me £350.00 to replace the motor -

having the same problem on my Megane Coupe 98. Drivers side window isn't working - passenger side works fine though!
