Where do I find the reversing light switch on my vauxhall vectra 1997 P Reg?

When my car is in reverse gear the reversing lights do not switch on. I have checked the light cluster (bulb okay). With the ignition on and the car in gear there is no supply between the cluster and earth. The fuse is okay as the same fuse supplies the brake lights (can anybody confirm this). It has been sugested that the switch on the gearbox may be faulty. I have looked for it but cant find it. Can anybody help?

Marks answer worked for me, I've got a vectra 1997, was mounted on front of gearbox, pulled it out, washed it in WD-40 and bob became my uncle !

You may well have found it by know but if not it is mounted on the front of the gearbox (towards the radiator), the small lead to the switch comes out of the main wiring harness located to the left of the battery so you can follow that if it helps.

I had the same problem and just washed out the senser in a cup of pertrol and it came back to life.
