my john deere Lt150 riding mower deck hangs down and drags in front?

My deck hangs low and drags the ground in the front and it looks like there should be something it should be able to hook onto to rgulate the raising and lowering of the deck... is this a trip to the repair shop or is it possible to repair it myself?

The front 'fork' supporting the front of the mower deck needs adjusting on the mower deck. When you remove the mower deck from the 'tactor' you will see adjustments. My LT150 has been so perfect, I'm glad I spent $2800.00 for the LT150. I've had no problems with mine in six years. Other cheap stuff I bought at the major hardware stores were junk. I had to work on them every time before I could use it. But not my pride and joy John Deere LT150. Read or get an owners manual or take to a John Deere Dealer for adjustment. You'll never have another problem. Remember too, there are grease fittings which need lube once a year, except, J.D. asks that you lube the front axle before each use. I have maintained my LT150 to absolute perfection and have had no trouble with it at all.

It sounds like you're missing the front draft rod that holds up the front of the belly mower off the ground-that rod came off my mower last week when the bracket bent that holds one of the mower deck wheels. Fortunately I found the front draft rod in my yard. It's shown on page 36 of my owner's manual, which you can access on-line at the john deere website and even look at the photos & schematics. The rod is easy to put back on if you find it, or have to buy a new one.
