where is the fan belt on my hotpoint vtd00?

My tumble drier is making all the right noises, but the drum is not turning. How can I access the fan belt to see if it has snapped, broken or come off?

Lauraine

There is no actual fan belt for the fan, the fan is mounted directly on to the shaft on the main motor, the only belt you have is the one that drives the drum and is on the opposite end of the shaft to the fan.
Remove plug from the mains supply.
At the back of the machine there are 2 screws at the top holding the top cover on, 1 on the left & 1 on the right, Remove both screws, pull the top cover away from the front of the machine to remove the cover, The belt goes around the main drum & onto the drive shaft on the motor, the fan is on the opposite end of the shaft.
Hope this helps you.
You may be able to help me?
When you take the top cover off, on then back of the rotary timer knob, you have 5 wires going to it, on one end you have a Brown lead and a White/Black lead, the other end you have White/Pink lead , Blue lead and a Red lead
Could you tell me what position these go ? as there is spare terminal on my board.
