fiat bravo choke?

the revs on my 1.2 80 16v keep going up and down all the time. is the choke at fault and will it need to be replaced as it looks like a sealed unit

i was goin to buy a car of a guy with the same problem i think. i cant remember what the name of the thing is that needed replacing but he said its a minor thing (it was a punto though)
