gear selection is stiff how can i fix it ?

ldv convoy minibus 2.4 torq diesel the gears are slighty hard to select as though the mech is bent once in gear it drives perfect coming out of gear seems difficult at times any ideas how to line up or any suggestions

is selection still stiff with engine turned off? if its free it could be clutch dragging [i think reverse is syncrho so is it also hard to engage with engine running] no ajustment on lever ,but bolt holding yoke to selector shaft is prone to breaking!
