how do i replace a cracked gas control knob on a belling diplomat hob?

one of the existing control kobs has cracked on my beling diplomat hob. Can I purchase a spare part and replace myself or does it require a gas fitter?

Most cooker knobs just pull off,they can be a bit stiff,be firm but gentle.You can do this yourself.
