Rover 400 series 1400 16vl?

I have put a new head gasket and replacement head on my Rover 400 series 1400 16 vl,when head put back on and bolted down crank will not move for some reason please help. Thanks

If this is the k series engine,I afraid that the mains have probably shifted.the long engie head bolts actually screw into the main bearings and hold them on.moving the crankshaft when the head is off is practically gntd to unseat mains.try slackening off all head bolts and then turn the crank back and forward about a 1/4 turn either side of tdc then re tighten very carefully,checking that the crank can still move untill u reach torque/angular.If this does'nt work the sump has to come off to reseat main bearings.
