Renault megane scenic - low battery warning?

When i press the start button in the car it intermittently comes us with 'low battery' on the dash - i press the start again and it starts - sometimes it takes several attempts- its been in to a garage (not renault) and he says the battery is ok but his electronic gadget cant get far enough into the computer so i have to take it to the main dealer - anybody got any ideas as its a £100 quid straight away - Renault megane scenic 55 plate

hi I have a 2009 scenic 3 low battery warning, fitted new battery and new alternator £500 in total, worked fine for a week then this morning 28/02/2014 I had 1 low battery warning. I have had diagnostics done that is how I found out it was the alternator, hopefully a good run will fix it

Followup: After a night of recharging, the car at least runs. Mechanics said "alternator" per message, but will do some measuring tomorrow to confirm.

For the record, 2005 Renault Grand Scenic 1,9d.

Got the same message yesterday. Today during driving, electricity started to get critically low. (Oooh yeah, so that is what "low battery" means ...) -- Servo failed, ABS failed, then the heating, the speedomeeter, the display.

Made it back home. Checking in to a mechanics in two days. Will try to recharge battery overnight, maybe it's useable for a short trip tomorrow.

I have the same problem but has been happening for months, Low Battery shows up on the dash as I am driving. I have been in the garage loads but the fault hasn't shown up for them. As soon as I pick it up, it comes on again.....typical. The garage says the battery etc is fine and there isn't anything wrong with it. I have been looking at loads of forums and seems there are a number of issues and ranging from IPhone to Alternator, so wondered if there are any other updates on this?

This seems to be a general problem. I have a Renault Megane 2006 model and the low battery warning light comes on after about 10-15mins driving. I had my alternator refurbed, and it seemed to have dealt with that, but not even a month later the car was affected in more negative ways. Lights started to dim, electric window malfunctioned and loss of power was experienced and still the problem persists now, even after two vists to the auto electrician.

I have the same problem on a 05 plate Scenic. Had the problem for 2 months now. Starting the car becoming a real pain, it used to take two or three attempts, now sometimes into double figures (22 worst!!). Installed a new battery & the problem still exists. Paid £100 for a Diagnostics test at a Renault dealer and nothing was found! Anyone got any leads on what the cause may be?

I am trying to sort out a similar problem. I have been advised by an auto-electrician that it could be a faulty alternator. Not a cheap fix unless you can get the existing one refurbed. Also could be a wiring loom problem?
