I realise it's unlikely to be able to fix this but the little plastic 'catch' that clicks shut when the door is shut has broken in two. Essentially the only way to run the thing is to tape the door shut and I suspect it's not terribly safe to do that (suspect it'll burn something). Any ideas?

I have exactly the same problem. Any advice on where I can buy a new door catch? How do I split the door to get in there?

just order yourself a door catch and that will do the trick. its easy to fit and very cheap to buy
