FRIGIDAIRE REFRIGERATOR LEAKING WATER INSIDE THE REFRIGERATOR COMPARTMENT?

I have a Frigidaire refrigerator that 2 years old with the freezer on top. It's leaking water inside the refrigerator compartment, it's not consistant, it's sparactic. I've had 3 different repairman looking at it with all three giving me a different explanation and it's still leaking. It's not the ice maker, because it's been turned off and it still leaks. One repairman said the drain is clogged and needs to be turned off for 24 hours, i'm going to try it this coming weekend.. Model FRT18FS6CQ0 Thanks, Rob

Most repairmen don't know any more about this problem than the homeowner does. I paid several times for this problem, and the fix turned out simple when I finaly looked at it and did it myself. Repairmen tell you to defrost and unplug the drain. My FRS20zRG HAD THE WATER BACKING UP IN THE FREEZER. (THIS IS A SIDE BY SIDE) The repairmen just defrosted and unplugged, but then the water drained into the fridge. The problem I found was the drain pipe was too long, and bottomed out on the drain tray under the freezer section, not letting the water out. Then it backs up and stays inside the freezer, or drains over to the fridge. Why can't the repairmen paid big money find these simple things, or is this a trick to get repeat calls. I pull the inside of freezer plastic covers off.
Unplugging the refrigerator, I then use a blow dryer and defrost all coils.
You will see a small hole in the back under coils. This is the drain.
More then likely the drain has become clogged or frozen.
Using a glass of hot water. I gently poor till water begin to drain and have come clear.
I ADD A 1/2 CUP OF BLEACH TO DRAIN THE LINE!!! NOW I FEEL LIKE A HAVE A NEW REFRIGERATOR!!

Dear Mr. Fixitttt:
Just want to thank you for your helpful tips in fixing the water leakage problem. I followed your instructions and it completely solved the problem. Otherwise, I probably would have gone to buy a new refrigerator. Thank you.....

Hello Rob,
Doing an internet search brought your question up and I am experiencing the same problem -- sporadic leaking inside the fridge, a 2 yr old frigidaire, FRT17 series. Did turning it off for 24 hours work?
