I've just had mine to bits due to a very strange grinding noise, thought it was a bearing shot, and found the fan impelle that pushes the air over the heater element at the back was not gripping the drive shaft. IF yours is very noisy thand no delivering heat then it may be that this needs to be replaced. However, it could also be the heater element is shoit of cacked with fluff (a fire hazard) or that the high/low temperature switch is faulty.
