How do Check that the carben brushes are working on my zanussi FLS 1183w?

The drum is not rotating, I have checked the belt and it seems ok! from looking at what most people say when this happens it might be the brushes but i have no idea where they are, how to check them or replace them.

lay machine on its back and you will see motor mounted on bottom of the drum.motor brushes are held onto motor case with screws or 5.5mm nut screws.the motor brushes are about 30mm long when new
