Recently I got a new vacuum cleaner that worked perfect until all of sudden I noticed smoke that was coming from motor compartment and huge sparks that are visible around motor stator and brushes. What would be the reason that would result in so much of sparks and can I do anything to reduce it?

Check your warranty. These sparks indicate a bad motor. You should not continue to use it.
