Can I set Internet Explorer to not allow Pop-ups?

How can I configure Internet Explorer so that it won't Pop-up with all the extra windows and advertising? I find these a real pest and would like to stop them. Is this possible? I know you can buy Pop-up Blocking software, but I want to know if I can stop them with the software I have.

Download the Google Toolbar from http://toolbar.google.com/. It can block popups as well as a number of other useful facilities. And it's FREE.

IE doesn't stop popups. I think that Microsoft are introducing a feature with the next XP service pack (SP2).

There are lots of free popup blockers. I'd look for them on www.download.com
