How do I open up my Medion MID 2020 (MD41050)?

I want to get inside my 4 yr old laptop to replace the CMOS battery, clean the fans and possibly add more RAM. I have taken out the main battery, hard drive and CD/DVD player and removed all other screws. The base wants to come off but seems to be held fast in the middle as if a single screw is holding it. It has been suggested to me that there might be another screw underneath the keyboard but I can see no way to get it out. Any ideas??
PS I have built 2 PC's in the past but this is my first laptop

on a mim2120 you have to pop up the keyboard and you will find 2 screws underneath, remove these then the other sides middle section should be liftable.

Does anyone know of any online disassemble guide for this laptop ?

Hi there. I had this trouble too, thought I'd snap the casing off cos it seemed glued together.
The secret is a small hole right next to the power input.
It's a bit like the hole you open an unpowered CD drive with.
You poke in a very small nail/pin/ straight paperclip, and as you do so-slide the panel that has the on/off and other buttons on it to the left, this will now pull off.
Now remove the keyboard securing screws, lift up and unclip ribbon cable. you can now get to processor-heatsink etc. HOWEVER if you want to upgrade RAM, this is done on the underside, under the cover positioned above the battery.
Hope this helps, I had to snap off the clip but it is the ONLY way to get to above parts, as well as the screen connector cables.
Best wishes all.

hi what you need to do is remove the light grey screw covers off the underside screws, remove the screws and the 4 that are on the screen as you need to take the cover off the screen.

Then after removing the cover, remove the 4 screws from the hinge on the screen, this will give you access to screws under the screens hinge, you remove these and you can get inside the thing as last.

If you have solved the problem, please let me know. I'm working on it right now. Also MID 2020
