Bosch WFK2801 wash cycle doesn't start. How do I fix this?

Over the last year or so, only a few wash cycle programmes were functional on my Bosch WFK2801 Washing Machine. For example, 30C temperature would ensure the wash cycle started, but no other temperature programme settings would work. Recently, the machine has gone on the blink. Even though all the lights come on as usual, the cycle does not actually start and the machine doesn't even feed water in.
I would appreciate any suggestions as to the cause of the problem and a suitable remedy.

Just had the machine fixed by Bosch qualified engineer from Bosch Appliance Care, Milton Keynes (08705 678910 - But I rang Bosch customer centre to arrange the visit), after I cleaned the filters and drained the pump, as directed by the manual, but to no avail. The faulty parts was diagnosed as BOTH inlet valve solenoid circuits. The parts cost £57.58 in total (incl vat, but excl fitting, which cost about £50 for the first half an hour). You have to remove the top of the machine to get at the solenoid valve circuits. The solenoid valve circuits are located at YOUR LEFT top corner of the machine (it follows on from where the hot and cold water inlet is at the back of the machine). The engineer was quick, professional, friendly and helpful.
