I experienced a similar problem with a Ford Escort 1.8 where a core plug was weeping in the cylinder head. When the engine got hot water sprayed out onto the spark plug and lead and cause a bad misfire.

I don't know whether this could happen with a Vectra cylinder head as the design may be completely different.

Doesn't your car have coil packs above the spark plugs rather than old fashioned leads. Coil packs can fail causing a misfire.

If you are losing coolant with no apparent leaks I would suspect head gasket failure. This could contribute to rough running and loss of power too.

A compression test should help with diagnosis, and/or a check of the coolant fluid.
