12" compound mitre saw will cut up to a 4X6 and was used for a couple of years. It suddenly began to shut off after cutting for a few minutes. It will cut for about 5 min. and then it heats up and shuts off. Does anyone have any idea what could be wrong with it and how I could fix it?

sounds like the thermister is cutting in. this stops the motor
burning out if it overheats. try sharpening it or changing the blade.
