How do I repair a chop saw that cuts off after a few minutes?

12" compound mitre saw will cut up to a 4X6 and was used for a couple of years. It suddenly began to shut off after cutting for a few minutes. It will cut for about 5 min. and then it heats up and shuts off. Does anyone have any idea what could be wrong with it and how I could fix it?
Thanks!

I've been in the power tool repair business for 30 years and I think it sounds like the motor is breaking down. Probably too much commutator wear. The motor bearings and old winding may be getting shorts as well. I would recommend you take it into a Repair Center. They will either be able to repair it or have to replace it.
