how can i fix vienna wall clock?

i wound my vienna wall clock the same as every other day and it has stopped working. it only works when i apply gentle pressure on the weight which makes the clock tick. what could it be

Instead of applying pressure to the weights, start the pendulum to swing. Pressure on the weight cords can cause the weight cable to break. Also, this puts extra stress on the clock gears which can damage the gear teeth. Finally, your clock may be due for a proper servicing. As clock movements accumulate dirt and dust into the parts, it can rob it of power making it weaker. Thus the need for you to take this extra step of pressing on the weight.
