How do I fit a new drive belt to my Zanussi Condenser Dryer, model TC 481W (product code 916720044)? I've fitted it around the drum and drive spindle but there seems to be a lot of slack. Is there a knack to tightening it?

No, that should be push the roller as far the the LEFT as possible. That's LEFT as you look at the back of the dryer (or RIGHT as you look at it from the front while balanced on top of the infernal machine trying to turn the drum and keep the belt on the spindle....save yourself a lot of trouble and get a friend to help!)

Done it! The trick is to push the roller unit as far to the right as possible - don't be too gentle, it takes some force. It's then really fiddly to get the drive belt around the roller unit and onto the drive spindle. It took two people half an hour to manouvre the drum, the belt and the spindle to get the belt into place. It will seem like you're fighting the machine to get the belt on but persevere!
