i have a zanussi turbo dry 1200 model w1242w and it will not drain,during wash or when selecting drain cycle.About 3 seconds after selecting drain there is a click (like a relay coming on)from middle of machine, but no power to drain pump.Can anyone give me some idea as to how to fix it or what it could be --please. thanks.

the drain pump is empty and ok electrically, this was only half of the problem --my wife finally told me that it sticks at j on cycle does not go into fast spin and also does not drain--the moter rotates slowly in both directions during wash then sticks on j --(on the dial) the brushes appear to be fine--i have taken them off and checked them.Thanks for the help so far-if any other ideas will appreciate it,thanks mark

is something jammed in the drain pump impellor?.you may have to remove the pump to check the impellor rotates freely.
