my ford fiesta 04, its clutch broke last night. Towed it to a garage that fixes ford cars. They rung now to say the shaft is seizing up, the pin in the master cylinder keeps popping out and he mentioned about gear box and arm??? Said £482.00 inc vat to fix. lots of labour. Why is this? I asked him the same question and he said not enough grease at the factory. Is this a manufacturers fault then? Help?

not sure on clutch arm they have a direct slave cylinder what broke on it was it that the clutch was slipping or that u had no pedal, but sound to me whatever the problem is thay want to take your gear box out and the price u have been qwoted is within reason for a main dealer
