Vauxhall Vectra 1.8ls 90+ miles - over revving, tends to be when stuck in traffic e.g. M25, or can be just when going around town and stopped for 10 mins or so. Idler valve & throttle housing have both been cleaned. Also tends to get very hot 95+

I have the same problem with my VECTRA 1800cc 1998, Vauxhalls have cleaned all renewed idler valve, throttle housing, renewed sensors crankshaft ect, checked for air leaks, what next and it is still overrevving but not getting hot. have spent a fortune with these people but have to return as repairs are under warranty, HELP if Vauxhalls cant fix it who can?
They have had the riot act!
Try the sensors, must be management unit, I think

have your crankshaft sensor looked at, its a common problem with vauxhall, it causes stalling, engine to go into idle mode, running lumpy,over and under reving. you can buy them on e-bay for about 30 pound.
