Why is queking noise coming from the brakes when pushed?

Just put a master cylinder on a 98 Dodge Caravan and the the brakes are squeking now. They were squeking before I put the master cylinder on and they are still doing it. It only happens when the brakes are pressed. Why are the brakes squeking?

If they are drum brakes the squeaking noise will probably be the brake shoes moving against the back plate. Any grease that used to be there has probably all dried out. Take the drums off and lubricate sparingly where the shoe touches the backplate with Copaslip (copper based grease). Don't get any grease on the brake linings!
