My van is slower after a service???

My merc 208d went in for a service 2 days ago, since then it wont go over 40mph in 3rd or 4th gear and wont go any faster than 72mph in 5th gear???

maybe a faulty fuel filter or incorrectly fitted.Or if its ecu controled maybe they some how triggered it into limp home mode.either sounds plausible.is the engine warning light (mil) on?,if so then it needs code read.
