How can i fix my ford transit from overheating?

Transit van M reg 2.5 engine diesel. My engine constantly overheating spurting water out from the expansion tank when the van is moving no mater what speed i am going. When i refill the water and the engine is idoling it works perfect with no water loss or strange noises coming from the expansion tank. I have replaced the thermostat with no change to this problem. Oil level is fine. checked the haynes manual but is limited to its solutions eg. thermostat - belt tension leaky hoses all which are fine. CAN SOMEBODY HELP PLEASE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In cheapest to do order. Is the rad a uniform temp?cold spots would indicate blocked core(backflush anyway)top hose and btm hose should be same temp when stats open.2nd,cooling system is presurised so cap MUST be a good seal(swap for 2nd hand)3rd.coolant pump to be removed and checked.(seen impellers rusted away/loose ,lost!you name it)4th.cylinder head gasket, best tested with a fluid dye test,(the fluid reacts to hydrocarbons present in the coolant)good well equiped independant garage should oblige.
