Why is my Zanussi TD5-382W marking my clothes?

Black marks are left on my clothes which is coming from somewhere round the door area. Someone mentioned it might be the bearing but it is tumbling and drying fine but the marks are getting much worse.
I orginally blamed my daughter for leaving chewing gum in her pockets which would fall out the and melt onto the drum. I spent days scraping it all off and have now eliminated it from the investigation!
Please advise.

Did the original poster solve the problem, I'm having the same trouble with the same model.

Some of the other replies are not very helpful, you can't do a "service wash" in a TUMBLE DRIER!

I've just changed the door felt like stuff, it was black and the rear bearing. It's fine now. I think it looks like a bad design, I would get two or three felts if I were you .

Having looked at my machine it seems that the drum is off center. If I put my fingers inside the machine I can feel a larger gap between the drum and the frame at the bottom of the opening than at the top. Hence I believe that the clothes are being trapped in a "V" and come out looking "burned" in a similar pattern. When I pull the drum forward at the bottom it moves towards the door and the gap closes. I think this is the marking issue on my machine. Any ideas how to fix the drum alignment?

I'm going to order a bearing and a front felt, this may work I'll let you know, It should only cost about £15 for both, I hope !

My dryer does exactly the same, any one help ?

Tuble-drying without marks, does not remove the likelyhood that the bearing needs replacing.

Only during washing will there be water to transport the oil from the bearing to your clothes.

If the black marks are from mould on the door seal, either clean with bleach solution or replace seal.

I suspect the this is oil which is contained in your drum bearing and leaks now that the bearing is worn/wearing. Try wobbling the drum up & down. If it has a lot of 'play', the bearing needs replacing.

It may still be chewing-gum residue on the outside of the drum. Do a 'service wash' to clean it. IE select the hottest wash possible (usually 90 degrees) and leave the drum and soap-tray empty.
