how can i get my sewing machine to work?

i have a crofton sewing machine md 8708.from aldi. it was working fine until i let someone use it that knows nothing about sewing. (big mistake i realize that now),i have no idea what she did. when i plug it in and press the pedal it makes noise like it is trying to work but nothing moves everything seems to be frozen. i have tried cleaning it out and oiling it, but it still will not move. when i try to put the pressure foot down it doesnt move, down or up. the balace wheel doesnt even move when i try to turn it. i dont see any thread or lint anywhere when i open it up. could the motor be bad? i have tried everything in the manual but none of the troubleshooting reflects my problem, if someone has an answer i would greatly appreciate it.

I have this same machine for sale. Only used twice. You can purchase if you like. Still like new.

Lora,

I know this sounds simple but did you check to be sure the bobbin winder is in the sewing position and not in the threading position.

Good Luck,

Hello Lora,
Chances are there is thread stuck in the actual raceway, take out the bobbin and bobbin case and lower the gate with the two black clips, take out the half moon shape raceway and you may well find thread there, if there is no thread try and turn the balance wheel, if it does not move then you have a problem elsewhere, e-mail me if you like.
