How do I get water into my Hoover 550 MA washer?

The machine will not fill but the Water does come during the Spray rinse cycle

Sounds to me like you are trying to fill the machine at the start of the wash for the hot supply and this will not work. I don't know the machine itself but if you open the machine (unplug it first!) you will see an electrically operated valve (normally white nylon, possibly black) with a coil on top and two wires. There is one of these for hot and one for the cold inlet. I suspect the hot coil has gone open circuit. Test for continuity with a cheap multimeter, about £4 from Maplins or any other hardware store these days (disconnect coil, set meter to approx 200 ohms put probes across coil connections and look for resistance reading. Any reading is good, no reading means broke)
If open circuit, then you will need to replace the inlet valve.

If not, then reconnect and see if there is power getting to the coil when the machine is trying to fill. Mind the shock hazard. 240 volts! You can do this with a neon power tester or your multimeter if you know how. (If you don't, don't try with the meter - you'll either kill it or give yourself a nasty shock or worse.) If it is, replace the inlet valve - valve is stuck. Otherwise likely you have a control board issue. Time to call the pros.

Have fun.
