my toyota townace(import) is hard to start/wont start in the colder months?

As Ive mentioned, my toyota townace is difficult to start in the colder months, does anyone have any suggestions on how to stop,or at least help this situation.

I agree with the last answer. Have just had the same problem with my Townace diesel. If you have a multimeter with ohms resistance scale disconnect the glow plugs (there is one per cylinder, they look a bit like small spark plugs) and then measure the resistance from the plug connection with the other meter probe on the engine block or any earth. if the plug is good the meter will show a very low resistance, probably less than 1 ohm.
On my van all four were faulty (have done 196 000 km) I only replaced three as the back one is hard to reach, but it seems to work fine with three.

i used to have one!!! THEY'RE GREAT

anyway assuming its the diesel one i would suggest changeing the glow plugs, evin with bust glow plugs they will start fine in the summer, but struggle in the winter, mine had to out of the four plugs blown so it started but ran ruff for a short time untill all started to warm up, they are about £10.00 each!!! good luck
